School Counselor
Services Offered
My role as a school counselor is to provide a safe environment for counseling. I will listen and may be direct. I will help you make a plan for change. I will offer referrals, consultation, collaboration, and advocacy. Services that I offer are:

Classroom guidance lessons to promote the character education values of respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

Academic guidance and support services, including the monitoring of academic performance, facilitating communication between school and home.

Career awareness, exploration and planning services, including goal setting and decision-making assistance for students.

Classroom observations.

School crisis and intervention referral services.

Individual counseling, small group counseling, and social groups.

Emotional, social, developmental and behavioral services to students and families.

Teacher/counselor consultation.

Referral assistance.

Participate on academic teams and consult with teachers on a regular basis regfarding the needs of students.
Counseling
Individual Counseling
If a student needs me, I will be available to meet with them at different times during the school day. As a school counselor, I can provide short-term assistance for individual students in a safe place. School counselors can help with referral to outside community resources if needed. I can help students with this if more attention or intervention is required. Students, teachers, staff, and parents can all discuss referrals for individual sessions with me.

Small/Social Group Counseling
Small group counseling sessions is another service provided by the school counselor. This provides a safe environment for students and their peers to work with the school counselor on awareness, improving their skills, or even working through problems. These sessions will be offered during lunch/recess as to not interfere with their education.
Academic Development
As a school counselor I am here to help all of our students achieve academic success. Academic guidance and support services can include the monitoring of academic performance and facilitating communication between school and home. I may also participate on academic teams and consult with teachers on a regular basis regfarding the needs of students. If needed, I may do classroom observations as well.​ I can help students with their academic planning and goal setting and I will be an advocate for all of our students to help them achieve success.
Career Development
​Career counseling may be done individually or in small groups. During career counseling with the students, we will be working on career awareness and career planning. Students may take some assessments to help them gain some insight as to what their skills, interests, and abilities are. We will then do some career/job research in order for them to see what is available. Once they have done some research, we will work together so they can develop their goals and a plan to achieve their career goal. We will also work on any skills and decision-making practice that they may need.
Personal/Social Development
I will spend time with students throughout the school year discussing and practicing a variety of skills and topics through the school guidance program. These lessons are to promote the character education values of respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Other skills and topics addressed will be social skills, peer relationships, career development, academic success, anger management, emotions, and stress. These lessons are aimed at educating our students and to help them with their emotional, social, developmental, and behavioral growth.
Community Resources
My goal as the school counselor is to help all of our students be successful​. Life can be stressful for everyone. I am avalable to help in any way I can. I can help with getting outside resources if needed with local agencies. I am here for help and support for all parents, students, and staff.
